Tour de Write: Put on Your Walking Shoes and Get Ready to Write!
Register Today!!! Tour de Write
On November 7, 2015, join Bay Area Writing Project Teacher Consultants Art Peterson and Marty Williams as they lead you on Tour de Write, a walking and writing experience through San Francisco’s history and present. Come explore the past and present of San Francisco, write and share about your own relationship with this great city. We will draw on readings from Art’s best selling book Why Is that Bridge Orange? San Francisco for the Curious that explores the stories behind San Francisco’s quirks, landmarks and eccentricities. Participants will receive an autographed copy of the book.
We will meet in the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero at 10:00 a.m., walk to a number of historical spots, hear a bit at each stop from Art about the history, write and share in small groups. We will find a spot for lunch along the way, continue our tour and end the day by 4:00 with a group read around in Art’s lovely home in San Francisco (with beautiful views!).
Cost: $75 (lunch not included)

The Bay Area Writing Project (BAWP) is a collaborative program between the University of California at Berkeley and Bay Area schools, dedicated to improving writing and the teaching of writing at all grade levels and in all disciplines. One of the founding principles of BAWP suggests that the best teachers of writing also write themselves. This monthly reading is a lively and unique place to hear the powerful voices of teachers and other writers in our rich and varied Bay Area communities.
Light refreshments will be served. We hope you will join us.
Please contact Judy Bebelaar at email@example.com or 510-845-5430 with any questions.

Presenters’ Collective Network (PCN)
Session #2 –
(Teaching Fellows Only )
TC’s interested in attending, please RSVP to Stanley Pesick- firstname.lastname@example.org
UC Berkeley, 3507 Tolman Hall 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
For long-time consultants and presenters, we want to the PCN to be a place for you to try out a new presentation, or refine one you’ve already developed. For TCs who have not yet had a chance to present, we’d like the PCN to be an opportunity for you to further develop ideas and presentations put forth at your summer institute. For all of us, the collegial support at the center of the PCN is intended to help us work confidently with colleagues as we support continued growth as teachers of writing and teachers of content such as history and science.
